Nicolas Bearde celebrates the release of "INVITATION"
Click here for the "making of Invitation"
On "Invitation", Nicolas' fifth solo outing on the Right Groove imprint, he comes out swinging with both fee firmly planted in the straight ahead jazz milieu.
Produced largely by pianist, composer Nat Adderley Jr. - son of trumpet/cornetist, Nat Adderley Sr., (and nephew of sax legend, Julian "Cannonball" Adderley) "Invitation" deftly satisfies with finely wrought vocal interpretations of nine Jazz classics. Bearde's "buttery baritone"...." delivers in the tradition of legendary song stylists such as Billy Eckstine, Johnny Hartman, Arthur Prysock, Lou Rawls and Jon Lucien while maintaining his own unique approach to this bristling set.
